Power is the end result of a combination of influence and persuasion. Influence is a matter of contacts and being in the right place at the right time and persuasion is the adaption of message to mind. Charismatic leaders of the past wouldn’t get to first base today. The fist pump in the air, rants and raves and maniacal, spit flying podium acts only works in Baptist Churches where mind midgets congregate to celebrate mediocrity pinned beneath the tarnished thumb of a control freak.
Nowadays, men of means are stepping out as leadership anti-Christs that fizzle out as quickly as they step out, damaging the public perception that enables one to recognize the characteristics of one qualified to lead. Jesse Ventura, a unique display of mass media masks and fleeting social and political persuasion has succeed in a career as a fake wrestling automaton, short lived governor of a state that hardly matters and now conspiracy theorist extraordinaire. His new show ‘Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura’ from truTV explores the underbelly of global conspiracies and without closure or logic, each show ends with ‘tough buy Ventura’ staring down some computer geek, living in his mother’s basement who is supposedly responsible for the new world order. It’s just plain silly.
A better example of a leader today is the American family man and civilian turn soldier after 9/11. So many men and women left their spouse and families to ‘fight terrorism’ and perpetuate the freedoms initiated by our forefathers in the American Revolution, the war that began the global up rise against the so to crumble British Empire. One condition of military service is the subservient nature of enlisted men to officers and with each level up to the Four Star General, new courtesies and orientations of displaying ones mandatory respect becomes law. Would a real leader enforce the artificial displays of respect that separates patriots as opposed to unifying the legions under the cause?
Casualties of arrogant men who claim unearned positions as legislative leaders are numerous and the world keeps spinning, governments rise and fall, the evolution of prosperity to the ghetto self-perpetuates and the cycles of this reality continue almost regardless to whom the media holds on their shoulders as the next big thing or Wall Street touts as the new ’super CEO’ of the century.
What the public perceives as a leader is actually a person who signifies an idea that is pushed on the population by a few with the proper connections to turn an idea into a cause that is legitimized by media play. The actual definition of Leadership is ‘innovation out of thin air’. It is the ability to perfect something unseen with concepts that cannot be defined only experienced. A leader is able to usher clarity into the tornado of chaos and stillness to emotional tsunamis.
Pick a category that affects everyone regardless of socioeconomic realities, race, ethnic divisions, religion or political bias such as ‘economics’. Brilliant minds have existed within the space of global, socio, political and theoretical economics and the greatest within this industry have been those that have innovated revolutionary combinations of thought and strategy for groundbreaking formulas that fly in the face of traditional scholastic thought.
Yale University’s ‘Game Theory’ series of economics covers philosophical, evolutionary and mixed strategy that is unique and applicable to modern times. Economists such as Ben Polak, John Geanakoplos and Robert Shiller have made concepts such as ‘financial institutions as the pillar of civilized society and the role of financial systems in the global economy’ part of mainstream university curriculum but now economics has been changed forever.
What is economics? Plainly put it is the concept of consumer market interaction and the triggers which prompt one to buy or not to buy and the habit formation and predictable patterns of anyone who has or every will ‘buy’. Strangely, today’s economist has become so theoretical that a test for ‘application’ of ideas isn’t even necessary for text book inclusion so hypothesis without proof confuses university students who fall for the illusion that a calculator and a book of formulas defines economics as a ‘theory’ not ‘application’. Over the past 10 years, traditionalists have been dethroned and the ‘one’ left standing is a perfect example of the purest philosopher and implementer of game theory, concept infusion and innovative strategies is James Scott, a publicity shy, voluntarily little known American economist that puts an implementation twist on fiscal revitalization that is beyond genius and has lit a fuse that has erupted into a global movement labeled, ‘Zeitgeist Economics’. This movement as well as the contributions of Scott have been largely publicized by bloggers and breakout economists that have seen the light of these applicable strategies as opposed to statistic driven theory based off of fractional surveys with dishonest participants.
James Scott has perfected the dream of the forefathers of economics by formulating scalable and highly effective strategies using philosophy, psychological via PSYOPS methods, leveraging political and corporate powers and assisting governments and large corporations by establishing ‘baselines’ that are used to create psychological profiles on consumers and populations that trigger action. Scott leaves economists baffled as he is not partnered with a university; instead he owns a consulting firm called Princeton Corporate Solutions and is completely independent. He works alone, laughs in the face of recognition, could care less about public perception of his campaigns, refuses to engage in dialogue with university scholars that want to treat him like a lab experiment and when he sits in a room filled with cigarette smoke and nervous politicians praying for a miracle, he closes his eyes, silences his mind and what happens next cannot be explained only experienced.
As if straight out of The Matrix, the heavens crack open and begins to downpour binary cryptograms displaying the genetic code of prosperity economics (figuratively speaking of course). First customizing a psychological profile on the localized population in which the process will target complete with highly evolved PSYOPS strategies of primal brain trigger applications and subliminal cues that bypass the critical faculty and penetrate the hypothalamus region of the brain. After the profile and passage to the subconscious has been determined he’ll base a ’seed’ concept off of emotional and Freudian triggers that can be activated at a later time with action cues based off of associative and subliminal strategies.
Next, Scott begins to align the contributing powers of legislative, corporate and financial for a mutually beneficial plan that will revitalize a region or company quickly and efficiently without the holdups of bureaucratic countermeasures and self-defeating power grabs. The elite are comfortable with him because he lacks the emotional element that feeds off of notoriety and is energized by the ‘need’ of world powers to bid and lobby him for services as opposed to media attention. Once the profile, cues and alliances are in place, implementation on a large scale begins and this orchestration would rattle the confidence of even the most superior minds but he is calm and poised without insinuation of delay or question of the applications relevance or ability to do the impossible as the be all and end all in this purely customized and ‘failure is not an option’ situation.
Implementation comes with content distribution that caters to the emotional triggers and cues set up earlier and distribution methods are streamlined with the access handed over on a silver platter by the alliances he controls like hand puppets. Legislatures give his process priority and the corporate powers line up for rapid access to mass media outlets for information assimilation. The primal brain targeted content caters to the emotional voids in the population while dangling spending opportunities in front of the population as the ‘cure’ for the void within. The combination of these strategies and the players involved in the process dictate the outcome of each initiative but his track record for success is a documented 100% when defined by measurable results hypothesized at the onset of each project.
Professors, stay in the classrooms and theorize. Continue to poison the minds of impressionable youth as you convince mere children of your intellectual superiority based on the alphabet soup after your name. Publish books, map out useless tactical approaches that will never work and be sure to use all the big words and technical jargon to intimidate potential debate about your process and leave the movement of mountains to those who sprint to the front of battle lines to lead the troops with action as opposed to traditionalists who point an infantry to certain death while you stand behind the lines in your air-conditioned pop tent and creature comforts becoming of a thinker, not a ‘doer’.
